It was still early in the evening and there was still a lot of exploring to be done here in Krakow. Only arrived that morning and I was already liking this place more than Warsaw. I was glad I decided to spend more time here than in Warsaw. The main market square is huge and there are lot of alleys to explore. It is very easy to get lost here but that’s okay. The square appears to be safe even with loads of tourists here. I found myself aimlessly walking around the old town and just trying to discover interesting stuff.
One thing I found out here was that for a medieval town, there are a lot of churches here. It was almost every other block has a church. I came across this small church of Sts. John the Baptist and John the Evangelist. It was so small that I didn’t notice in at first. However, there were services at the time I was there. I think it was evening mass that was being celebrated which also happened to be celebrated at the main basilica here in Krakow. The church is surprisingly old having been built in the 12th century. It has been rebuilt several times so this probably wasn’t the original structure anymore. It would be worth spending several days here just exploring every inch of Krakow.
