The Cloth Hall of Krakow is one of the most prominent landmarks at the main market square of the city. This used to be a place of international commerce back when Krakow was still an international trading hub. In a lot of ways it is still serving its original purpose, which is to be a place for commerce. Arguably, people who come here are more international than ever. The cloth hall is the site of a very busy tourist market. There were numerous shops which sell all kinds of souvenirs. I thought that this would have been a great place to know what Krakow is known for.
It was actually very difficult to figure out what Krakow specializes in. One could argue the Krakow is the heart of Poland and Krakow represents Poland. There are probably regional differences across the country but the impact of Krakow on the country is that big. It wasn’t until the king of Poland decided to up and move the capital of the country to what is now Warsaw. It was then that the fortunes of the city went down. It is probably experiencing a resurgence with the increasing tourist traffic with a lot of people bypassing Warsaw in favor of Warsaw. I couldn’t agree with them more.
