The main market square of Krakow is really an impressive place. It is one of the largest medieval squares in the world and is arguably one of the better looking ones. Though there used to be structures in the square before, these have been cleared away leaving only the town hall tower without a town hall. One of the buildings which survived is the Krakow Cloth Hall. The cloth hall is one of the more prominent features of the square. It sits right in the middle of the square so it is hard to miss it. So what do they do in a cloth hall? A better term for this place would be a market.
Back then, Krakow was one of the largest cities in Europe. Such is the prosperity of the city that people from all over used to come here to trade. The cloth hall is where a lot of these transactions happen. Right now, it consists of one single long hall which are lined with shops. It is probably not that difficult to imaging how it was back then. It is probably much more organized now. These days, it is a tourist market which sells all sorts of souvenirs. I would probably end up buying something here myself.
