We were making our way back home and it seemed like we were in the middle of nowhere. We were approaching the village of Glencolmcille but we passed by the Glencolmcille Folk Park. There was some nice scenery near the area so we stopped by for some photos. The folk park is just across the street from where we were. From the outside one can see the traditional Irish cottages which were usage back in the day. I have been to a few of these traditional cottages and I thought they were very charming.
My friends and I weren’t interested in visiting the folk park. It is probably best described as a collection of Irish cottages. Visitors will be moving from one cottage to another to see how people lived back then. I don’t think there would be a huge difference cottages from one place to another. I remember recalling how small the rooms would usually be. In this rather remote landscape. I think I would be forgiven if I would see houses still built like this. There would actually be some cottages here and there but more modern dwellings are now the norm.
