I was glad to have been able to finally visit the Glengesh pass. I have visited the famous Slieve League which in the area, but I was told that I should have passed through Glengesh Pass on the way there. I didn’t know about it until much later. Anyway, I think it was a much better day today than the last time I visited Slieve League. It seems that we would be passing through a few detours. At least it isn’t just another trip to Slieve League. The next detour is Teelin. I remember the village of Teelin to be some sort of gateway to Slieve league. I thought it was a village by the mountain but we were headed to the Teelin Pier.
I didn’t know that Teelin was close to the water. Then again, the village of Teelin is already near Slieve League which is right by the water. As we were entering the village, I noticed that the water was usually calm. It is quite normal for this part of the country to have rough seas but to see it so calm makes you wonder if something is different about this place. It seems much of the open sea is shielded by land. Much of the large waves don’t make it here. Here you can see boats which are moored by the pier. As it turns out, you can hire boats here for Slieve League tours or just for leisure.
