One thing I liked about county Kerry, is how a lot of the interesting spots here are sign posted. The tourism infrastructure of the county is very well developed especially with the popularity of Skellig Michael. However, there are a lot of other places to see here in the county. I am here in the Dingle peninsula as a final tour of the county before I head back north. I decided to follow the northern shore of the peninsula before crossing over down south. One of the signs which I saw was for a Mount Brandon. It seems like it is the highest peak on the Dingle Peninsula but I didn’t plan on climbing the mountain.
There was another sign which points to a Brandon Point, which I think would be a much more accessible place. True enough, it brought me to the edge where you can see much of the Dingle Peninsula and its mountains. Brandon Point is also a place where you can see the beach below and I think I was lucky since there was a break in the clouds and it illuminated the area, revealing a beautiful landscape. Unsurprisingly, there weren’t any other people here. There was another hiking trail which goes up the mountain, but I wasn’t keen on doing any hillwalking.
