I was finally enjoying the beautiful scenery at the Ring of Kerry, it was a bit long in coming since I have been driving quite a while before finally getting here. Looking at the map there is no way to bypass the previous section since one still needs to get to the coast to see this. The route was turning northward and I got a feeling that there won’t be as many stop overs as before. The final one was a rather large car park. There was also great scenery here and it seems that you can see both sides of the view point.
You can see that the road will be moving away from the coast so there didn’t seem to be anymore scenery left. What is prominent here was a grotto. There was a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I think this kind of thing is pretty common in Ireland. I assume that this was to help keep travelers safe. I have seen this in the Philippines which also has a strong Catholic tradition. I took a few minutes to soak in the scenery knowing that I probably won’t be seeing the coast that soon. This seemed to be major stop along the route since the carpark was quite large. It is almost impossible to miss this spot because of that.
