The Ring of Kerry is a tourist route which goes around the county of Kerry. I was making my way to the bed and breakfast where I will be spending my night but I figured I should just explore the Ring of Kerry while I’m on the way. I haven’t seen much of the sights here along the Ring of Kerry yet as there weren’t a lot of signs along the way. However, things started to look up when I ran into Whitestrand which is a beach here. There were finally more signs pointing to other interesting spots here in the county. The next one is Staigue Fort.
I have seen stone forts before here in Ireland and I thought they were pretty impressive. I was glad to know that there was another one here in county Kerry and it wasn’t that far from where I was. I have to deviate from the Ring of Kerry and move inland where the fort it. The way is very well sign posted and it would be difficult to miss. I was wondering where it really is since I have been driving for a while when all of a sudden I saw it on the right. It seems it was a good spot to build a fort since it can has good visibility of the surrounding area.
