A Cave at Rock Close
There was a place in the gardens of Blarney Castle called Rock Close. This seems to be a subsection of the park. It has that mystical feel to it and true enough there were some structures here which point to mystical figures like druids and witches. There were caves which were said to have been used by witches. It would seem that witches didn’t have that bad a reputation back them. It would seem that people would consult with them. I guess a witch is someone who dabbled in these dark arts. Maybe people have special requests which are impossible by normal means.
Wishing Steps at the Rock Close in Blarney Castle
There was another feature called the Wishing Steps. This is a fun one. The idea is that to get your wish grants. One needs to walk from the top of the stairs to the bottom walking backwards all without looking back. I did see someone attempting it but ultimately giving up. The stairs weren’t that high but is was still scary to think what may happen if you misstep. I didn’t try it myself as the steps looked small and slippery. At wrong step would mean the end of me. I’d go on exploring this place then risk a fall.
