I was trying to make my way back to the car which I happened to park along Main Street. I was admiring the pretty little town that is Cashel. Main street is very busy as there are a lot of buses coming here from different parts of the country. It makes you wonder if Cashel has reach full capacity. I wasn’t staying here so I didn’t really mind the traffic. The place is large enough to have a supermarket but I don’t think it is up there with the large towns of Ireland. It does make up for it in historical value.
Cashel has a history trail but I won’t be able to complete it. I did come across a castle looking structure. Like a lot of castles here in Ireland, Kearney’s Castle is now a hotel. I still have to find the money to be able to stay in these places because I don’t expect it to be cheap especially in a tourist town like Cashel. The Kearney’s have lived in the castle for generations. It is a 15th century structure which was used as a fort by an infamous warlord Inchiquin. It is now considered as the oldest building in the town. I didn’t get to go in the castle anymore since it is now a hotel. It would have been interesting to be able to stay here.
