The Bunratty Folk Park is anyone’s first sight upon entering the grounds of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. I quickly went around the farm houses to take a look at the folk park but I realized that there was more to the folk park than just the farmhouses. I decided to visit the castle first and continue with the folk park afterwards. There were a lot more people here after I got out of the castle. Looking at the map, there seemed to be more places to see here, I wasn’t really in a hurry to get to Limerick so I took my time exploring the park.
The folk park is much like a farming village of old. There were people dressed as farmers here but I think they were staff maintaining the place. One part of the park had pigs too. They weren’t free to roam around the park like the goat or chicken were but visitors are free to approach the pen and maybe pet them. I don’t know how clean these animals are but the park has signs which remind people to wash their hands if they ever come into contact with an animal. The path around the folk park branches off but it should be easy enough to cover all the important places here.
