I haven’t been to new places ever since that business trip to the United States, but the time came for me to have to go on leave so I decided to take a road trip down to the south of Ireland. I haven’t been to this part of the country before and I have heard a lot of good things about it but I never really got the time to make the trip. The trouble with Ireland, is that to properly explore the country, one would need a car. Traveling by public transportation is inconvenient and it doesn’t really bring you to the nice places. I decided to make the trip, while I didn’t really plan on which specific places I need to go to, I had a general idea of the way. Fortunately, with the internet, it was easy to figure out a route. To go all the way down south of the country would probably take me seven hours of continuous driving. I don’t think I want to suffer through that especially that I would be driving alone.
I decided to break the drive into segments. The first stop for me would be Limerick. It was still a fair four hour drive for me. It was difficult for me to start driving since I woke up early in the morning. Part of me was worried that I might be sleepy. Just thirty minutes into the drive I was already feeling tired. I think it was just because I just woke up. Eventually, I shook it off. I grabbed breakfast at a petrol station in Carraroe which is probably halfway to where I wanted to be. By this time, I was already wide awake and I was driving much better. It was just in time since it was already time to get on the motorway. It was a great drive since there wasn’t a lot of traffic that early in the morning. My first stop of the day was Bunratty Castle which is just off the motorway on the way to Limerick.
