I was making my way to the Esplanade in Singapore when I noticed that there was a new bridge here. The Esplanade Bridge was the way I used to cross into Merlion Park but I was surprised to see a new bridge here. This is probably one of my most favorite places to hang out in Singapore. I like how well developed this place is and there are a few places one could relax here. There are steps here where you can just appreciate the scenery. Unfortunately, the place has become a big high end with the appearance of the Marina Bay Sands. There is still that old reliable Makan Sutra food court here but I didn’t have plans to eat here. I wanted to take photos and move on.
The new bridge here is named the Jubilee Bridge, which is because it was built for the 50th jubilee year of Singapore. There were big celebrations here at that time but I wasn’t here. I think it would have been fun. The Jubilee Bridge curves towards the Esplanade Bridge and slightly up. It is an interesting curve for a bridge but I think the bridge itself was not very interesting. I think only the shape of the curve was interesting. From here you can get a good view of the Marina Bay Sands. This also makes it a prime location for fireworks photography, that is if you can get there early enough.
