I got another opportunity to visit Singapore after a long while. It has been three years and it feels nice to drop by once again. I finished my business and I was just going around to see places which I haven’t photographed. One of the most prominent places is the Gardens by the Bay which in the Marina Bay area. I guess one of my favorite places in the Singapore is the Marina Bay area and this was even before the Gardens by the Bay was built. There was a major development effort here and it is now home to several important places. The Gardens by the Bay is the latest jewel in this crown.
I intentionally went to the Gardens by the Bay late afternoon since I wanted to take photos of the gardens during the golden hour. It was an agonizing wait since the sun usually set later here. From the Marina Bay Sands there is an elevated walkway to go to the Gardens by the Bay. This is where I set up waiting for the sun to go down. There were a lot of people here and it is amazing how many people visit this place. This is a credit to the government to be able to launch such a successful tourism campaign. A lot of people don’t like this influx of foreigners though but I think the overall effect has been positive. Singapore has modernized a lot in the last twenty years and it is one of the most important financial centers in the world.
