I realized how even more out of shape I was when I was already huffing and puffing my way up Ligñon Hill. The hill was probably one of the best views of Mayon Volcano and I was excited to get there. Unfortunately, there was a little climbing in the way. I was lucky that there was a lot of shade here since the sun was still not that high. I dread to think how bad it would be when I come down the hill. The way to the top of the hill is very well paved and it is a pleasure to walk on. Just be reminded that you also share this road with vehicles.
The road up Ligñon Hill winds right and left and finally to the top. For most of the way, the view of Mayon Volcano is obscured so there is little to see. However, this also provides a nice surprise once you finally reach the top. The top of Ligñon Hill is surprisingly developed. This is some facility here which I take to cater to tourists who come here. You can have snacks or meals here. I wasn’t really interested in that. I also see there are other facilities which are a bit strange. There is a defunct zip line here which stretches from the top of the hill to some tree. When you are zipping your way down you get a good view of Mayon Volcano. I can’t say I like these things, to me, they ruin the experience, most especially the view get ruined with all these cables flying around.
