I had another very good night’s sleep at the Embarcadero Hotel. It was an exhausting day and I just fell into bed. There was television but I didn’t have the strength to watch. I spent some time chatting to friends before calling it a night. It was another beautiful day and at least this time I was steeling myself for the heat that I would be encountering. I would be going to another place which also quite well known in these parts. Ligñon Hill is one of the places which have great views of the Mayon Volcano. There is a jeepney that passes by the entrance to the hill, the trick is to figure out which one. It turned out to be one of the “loops” here after some asking around.
The ride wasn’t that far, it actually brings me very close to the Legazpi airport. I remembered how I should have taken a flight to Legazpi city instead of braving the twelve hour ride from Manila. Ligñon hill is actually just a street away from the airport. Along the way, I already saw the hill from afar. It didn’t seem to be that tall. The driver kindly dropped me off that spot and from then on I was traveling on foot. Hot day and a hike up a hill not exactly the best combination.
