Apart from the old Saint John the Baptist Church, there wasn’t much to see in the town of Camalig. I do know that there is a cave which is some distance away, and it is actually the primary reason what I am here. I wasn’t sure how to get to the cave but I figured out the most likely route vehicles will be taking. The main road going through the town of Camalig branches out with one going to Manila and another going elsewhere. I thought the other road was the most likely place public transport will be taking to go there. The thing with public transport in the Philippines, you need to know which one to take.
Most of the vehicles would continue on the road to Manila. While they aren’t really all going to Manila, it is the main road out of town. I stood by the road waiting for a ride. There weren’t a lot of vehicles passing by. I considered taking a tricycle but it might cost me a lot. Eventually, a jeepney did pass by this route and I promptly got on. The driver confirmed that he is going past the cave or near it. The road was quite long and there was no way I would have been able to walk all the way to the cave. Just as we were approaching the destination, the engine of the jeepney sputtered. The driver managed to start the jeepney a few times but there was no power to go fast. He mentioned something about being almost there and how he needed to get someone to look at it. I had to get off since I couldn’t wait for him to revive the jeepney to proper working condition. He did tell me where to go, it wasn’t very far apparently.
