We were done exploring the beautiful town of De Rijp. We only passed through the place since it was also time for lunch. We were supposed to meet up with our sleepy friend after this but we wanted to have a lot at some interesting places along the way. I noticed that in the distance from where we were at the Westdijk, there was a line of windmills. I didn’t know what that place was but we since we haven’t seen a windmill that close, we decided that it was worth a visit since it didn’t seem to be that far.
This won’t be the first time we would visit a windmill. We were at Kinderdijk a few days earlier and we enjoyed seeing a lot of windmills in such numbers so close together. Unfortunately for us, it was already late and the park was already closed. We can only have a look at the windmills from the outside. We were hoping this will be a better visiting since the weather is much better today. The windmills here in the area are the traditional type and I think I would know more about them if we can get to go inside them. I wasn’t sure if this was possible at all but it was worth a shot. On the plus side, we get to go the length of the Westdijk and we got to appreciate how long it really was.
