There was a church in the city of Hindeloopen which turned out to be the Dutch Reformed Church. I have never heard of this denomination but I guess it makes sense since it is from the Netherlands and I have never been here before. The tower apparently leans which I assumed to be because of the soft soil around this area. I remember seeing a similar tower in Venice which suffers from the same problems. Anyway, I would be interested to see how the church looks like inside. There was door in the side of the church open for visitors.
The church wasn’t that impressive inside. It was rather ordinary or rather simple. It feels much more cramped inside compared to how the church looks like from the outside. Maybe the walls are thick. There were two columns of pews, which don’t seem to be very comfortable. I think this is the first time I have seen doors to enter pews. What was going to happen? I don’t think people fall out of the pews just like that. There was still room for a small pulpit to the right of the church while what was supposed to be where the altar is is even more bare. I am only describing what I see here, I think they embrace simplicity as shown by their architecture and design.
