The central canal in Sloten is probably the most beautiful part of this already very pretty little city. The canal connects to large bodies of water on both ends and it is makes for nice sailing opportunities. By the canal, there were already boats parked here and they seemed to be boats owned by common folk. This is probably a far cry from the yachts which I saw at the marina earlier. I think it would have been enjoyable to rent a boat here for pleasure but I rather have someone nice to do that with.
The streets lining both sides of the canal is probably Sloten Main Street. It is lined by a few important buildings such as a the church as well as a few shops here. I think people would just cycle to Lemmer to do some shopping but seeing a traditional shop here is really interesting. There are also a few restaurants here and I think it would be the best place to set one up. The setting is quite romantic and I think it would be nice to bring someone special here.
