On the way out of the Ir.D.F. Woudagemaal visitor center, we asked the staff there where we could find a place to eat. They were very gracious and not only pointed us a place to eat but also where we can go sight seeing. She recommended a route to take on the way back to Amsterdam. I admit I wasn’t prepared to go away from our plan but if this is a place which is recommended by the locals then perhaps it is quite nice. Fortunately for us, our next destination isn’t really that far. We have our trusty satnav to bring us around assuming we can correctly locate the place.
The staff recommended that we go visit the village of Sloten. I never heard of this place but according to the staff this is one of the most beautiful villages she has visited. On top of that, it was not far at all and it we didn’t need to go out of our way to visit the place. It was a very nice drive out to the village. Although the land was very flat, there was a lot of greenery here and it is very picturesque. I noticed that there were a lot of people on bicycles here so one needs to pay attention here. In the Netherlands, people use bicycles more than cars. It almost feels embarrassing to be in a car polluting the environment.
