We just arrived at the beautiful city of Amsterdam. We were supposed to meet up with a friend here but we need to drop off our bags first. We will not be staying in Amsterdam city center but on the city fringe. I had no idea it costs so much to stay in Amsterdam since all of the places we found run in to the hundreds per night. The only place we found was this weird place outside the city. We were at Amsterdam central and we needed to take a train out to the city fringe. We needed to get to Amsterdam Sloterdijk station. It took us a little getting used to the train system here but it was easy enough to figure out as long as you know where the stations are.
Amsterdam Sloterdijk station is right next to where we will be staying so it was a convenient place to spend the night especially when you are drunk or stoned. The hostel is right next to the train tracks but when we got there it didn’t seem to be open yet. I thought that was strange since there has got to be someone in there since it was a hostel. There was another interesting structure here and it was a tram. It wasn’t working anymore and it was turned into a restaurant or bar. It was probably not too strange to see these kinds of things anymore since setting up these kinds of places makes it unique.
The owner seems to be a very friendly guy and he even checked our accommodations next door. Unfortunately, he also has no idea why it was closed he did say that there was someone there earlier. We took some time to rest at his place. It was a tram converted into a restaurant. As you might probably expect, it is a small place. The chairs could barely fit me and I’m not that big, I think. We had a little breakfast at the De Amsterdamsche Tram as it is called. I noticed that they have events at night and it seems to imply that it gets very busy here at night. Indeed when we passed by that night, the place was packed to the roof. For a place which seem to be out of the way, they seem to be doing very well.
