There was a classy looking building which we entered called the Galeries Royales St. Hubert. A lot of the buildings in Brussels look like that so I thought it was easy enough to miss this one. But it seems that it is one of the important buildings of the city. Walking in through the gates, one would see how special it is. Inside it still a classical building but there is a glass roof. There were shops lining both sides of the building and I thought this was one of those shopping centers which I never get to buy anything because they were expensive. The Galeries Royales St. Hubert isn’t that far from that description since it is an indoor shopping shopping arcade. In fact it is considered the world first modern shopping arcade.
So what exactly to they sell here. I was half expecting them to sell designer clothing and what not. Yes, they actually have that but a lot of the shops here sell Belgian chocolate. It was almost like a chocolate lover’s paradise here. The were brands which I never heard of which apparently are very good. I wasn’t sure what to buy since they looked expensive, but it is possible to purchase smaller packs for smaller budgets. I don’t know whether I can bring them back since the weather is quite warm.
