It has been a miserable day in Brussels. There has been non-stop rain here and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of it letting up. Unfortunately, we still need to continue out trip and we shouldn’t let any rain to wash us out. Fortunately, the transport system of Brussels is very efficient and it is quite easy to get around since there are numerous tram and stops all around. We will be going to one of the more unique sights here in Brussels but it is also considered one of the symbols of Brussels – the Atomium. I am not sure if I have heard of the Atomium but the pictures of this place seems familiar. I guess we will have to go there to find out.
From the Horta Museum we needed to go back to the Midi station in the city center and take another tram to the Atomium. We are familiar enough with the tram system of Brussels having already taken it several times. The tram brought us to a rather remote part of Brussels. Remote here means there aren’t a lot of residences in this area. There was a lot of greenery but most importantly, it seems that there are a lot of theme parks here. I was thinking that the Atomium might be just part of a theme park. The rain was still falling so we didn’t really have better luck there. Fortunately, there was some shelter nearby, we ran to it while we plotted our next course of action.
