My mind was really in a mess couple of days after arriving in Belgium. Probably was because I still had work at the back of my mind when I came here. I had little time to prepare for the trip so even though we made it to Bruges, I still don’t know what people are supposed to see here. We got a map from the tourism center at the train station so finally made use of it since we seem to wandering around aimlessly. I let my friend lead the way and I would just go take photos of anything we would see along the way. Fortunately for us, the map comes with a top ten list of places to visit in Bruge. I wasn’t sure which number we were one but we were on our way to one of the more well known ones.
I only had a brief glance of what to see in Bruge and the Basilica of the Holy Blood is one of them. Already, the name is raising doubts within me. But I think it is still an experience I would like to have. The basilica happens to be in a Burg Square and I wasn’t easy to tell that there was a basilica here. When we arrived at the basilica doors, we found out that it was still closed. But we were in luck as it was going to open within a few minutes. There were only several people waiting outside the church and we were lucky to get in quickly. As one of Bruges most important sites, I am looking forward to seeing this one.
