Despite liking to see beautiful objects and things, I was never a fan of art museums. Probably because a lot of the art museums I have been to leaned more towards modern art. While modern art has its place, I still struggle to “get” a lot of them. The Metropolitan Museum of Art focuses more on the tradition types of art. New York has a separate museum of modern art although, it has a small section on modern art itself. There were a lot of people outside the museum so I was wondering if there were too many people inside. The building is a massive building with countless galleries. If the American Natural History Museum was any indication, I think I’m in for another long walk.
Like most museums in New York, entrance to the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art is free for an optional donation. I would love to go in for free but I also think that it would be good to make a donation for the continued operation of the museum. A lot of visitors also make donations upon entry into the museum. I’m very sure that the exhibits are of very high quality so donations here would go a long way. There were several wings here in the museum and I just randomly chose one wing to start in. Hopefully, the crowd near the entrance will thin out the further in I go.
