Open Area at the High Line
While I did see some photos of the High Line online. I didn’t really think that much into it. Pictures didn’t really show the extent of the High Line. Perhaps I never really imagined that I would go through several blocks. It was a some sort of urban oasis since visitors will be walking above the streets. It is actually good that the old line was an elevated line else it would have been just another park. The elevated linear park allows people to enjoy the environs of a park without having to close of any streets below. It was just a matter of making sure the park was nice and green.
A Look at the Street from the High Line
The High Line is delightfully green. It is lined with plants making for a nice park. The linear park wasn’t uniformly wide. There were narrower parts which I thought was normal since this was supposed to be an old railway line. However, some parts of the park were very wide and I wasn’t sure what that part used to be? Maybe it used to be a parking area where a lot of trains would spend the night. Maybe it was a terminal station but I didn’t see any sign of it. Either way, there were a lot of people here a lot of them tourist just enjoying the view.
