I managed to get a nice look at parts of the historic city of Philadelphia. I thought it was surprisingly pleasant, probably contrary to my preconceptions. The streets are quite safe to walk in and it shows since there are a lot of tourists here walking about. I just came from a sandwich detour from Pat’s Kind of Steaks which is the inventor of the Philadelphia Cheese Steak Sandwich. I walked back through a residential area and saw Philadelphia away from the tourist crowds. I thought this seemed to be a nice city of live in. I wasn’t following the map on the way back to the bus station but I already had a few landmarks in the form of the skyscrapers near city hall.
As long as I was heading in the general direction of the skyscrapers I would be fine and I was right. I found myself back at the LOVE Park where I started. This time however, the sun was already opposite city hall, so it was better illuminated. Even the Masonic Temple was also better illuminated now. I naturally took photos of them since earlier in the day it was all dark before the light from behind. By this time, I already knew where to go. I needed to get back to New York City before it gets too late. It is still two hours away and I don’t want to get stuck here else I don’t know how to explain myself.
