There was a long queue outside the Liberty Bell Center. I already noticed this queue earlier but I was intent on visiting the Independence Hall if I could. I wasn’t successful in visiting Independence Hall and here am I queuing up to see the Liberty Bell. I couldn’t see the Liberty Bell from the outside and perhaps I might have just taken a photo from the outside. Perhaps I was just looking in the wrong place. Anyway, the Liberty Bell is one of the most important symbols of the United States. This bell used to be hung from the steeple of the Independence hall. And though it was widely believed that the Liberty Bell rung during the Declaration of Independence, it did not.
When it comes to American history, the Liberty Bell is considered one of the holy relics. It is no longer in use but it still remains a powerful symbol of freedom. The Liberty Bell Center has numerous accounts of the stories around the bell which make for good reading while waiting to see the bell. Actually, inside the center, there is no more queue, but there is stuff to read here that you can’t help but stay in the queue. I think it is also good for me to know the stories associated with the bell.
