We took while a bit of time to board our ferry. Most of the time here was spent queuing to clear security. The security was understandably tight since the Statue of Liberty is a national monument. I only wish that there was shelter for everyone from the sweltering heat. There was a bit of respite at the security area which was sheltered and well ventilated. There was another queue to board the ferry but this was moving faster since the ferry can take in a lot more people. As expected the ferry is big. I would have wanted to take photos from the ferry of the statue but there were a lot of people at the prime spot.
The ferry ride wasn’t very long since we can already see the statue from where we were. The ferry didn’t approach the statue that much though I think there would be time for that since we will be getting off at the port. Everybody is going to the same place anyway so there is no mistaking where we would getting off. My friend has already been here but was gracious enough to accompany me here. Incidentally, the Statue of Liberty is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This would be my first one in the United States. Needless to say, I’m excited.
