I was delighted to be able to visit the Grand Central Terminal which one of the most famous landmark in New York City. I still have a lot on my check list but I think I have time to just wander around and explore the city. Despite being one of the busiest cities in the world, the city of New York is actually quite pleasant. It much more to see than I actually expected. I came across another important New York landmark and this was the New York Public Library. I didn’t know much about this place but the architecture of the library was striking enough for me to notice it. Not to mention that there was free Wi-Fi here, it might be a good time for me to catch up with the rest of the world.
The New York Public Library is the second largest public library in the United States and that is after the Library of Congress. It is also the fourth largest public library in the world. Having said that, it wasn’t very obvious to me that the library was actually that big. I only got to see the exterior of the library and it didn’t seem terribly huge. Perhaps it was much longer than I imagined it to be. It features and imposing facade but that didn’t really stop people from hanging outside it premises. There is a nice little shaded area off to the side where a lot of people we sipping coffee and just reading, perhaps the best activity to do here. Behind the library is also Bryant Park but wasn’t aware of that until now. Much as I wanted to visit the library, it was already closed, perhaps for the weekend. It was a pity since I would have wanted to at least step inside this famous landmark.
