I was very happy to have stumbled into the Chrysler Building. One may laugh at how I would be able to miss such a tall building. Most of the buildings in New York are very tall so they practically obscure anything near them since you would be too close to the building. I was merely walking down a street when I saw the famous building. The beautiful crown of the building was a marvel to look at but I can’t really see my from my vantage point, which is just across the street at the foot of the building. I think I need to be a little bit further away to better appreciate it and probably a telephoto lens would be helpful.
I started walking away to try to get a better photo but I remembered that I should at least try to see how it looks inside. There is probably a ticket somewhere to tour the place. I had to cross the street and enter the place. The lobby of the building is very bright with a lot of lights illuminating the place. It gives you the illusion of seeing gold everywhere. Probably lost in the brilliance of the lights is the art deco design of the lobby. The ceiling is painted with various designs, including one of the Chrysler Building itself near the entrance. Unfortunately, this is where it all ends. There is a sign which indicates that the building it closed, presumably for visitors. I think anyone wanting to work will still be let in. Too bad, I thought it would still be open for visits on a Sunday. A few other visitors seemed to have the same idea as they were disappointed to know that it was closed to visitors.
