Arrival at Port Authority Bus Terminal

I guess I have to thank my colleague for oversleeping that I managed to to gather the nerve to commute to New York City all alone. I think it helps that the bus brings passengers to the central bus terminal in New York City at least it is a very good point of reference when I begin exploring the Big Apple. The bus was surprisingly old. It was clean and safe but it was not ultramodern like some buses which I have taken. The bus is a community bus so I guess it tries to make do with what they have. There weren’t a lot of passenger though. Some of them would have a transit card which allows for contactless fare payments. I was obviously not a resident so I paid in cash. It costs just over eight dollars to go there and I admit I was quite excited.

After passing through several bus stop along the way, the bus took the freeway to New York. From then on it was very fast. I was excited to see the skyscrapers of Manhattan which so far I have only see in photographs. This would be my first time to see them up in person. After passing through a tunnel we emerged at Manhattan Island which is synonymous to New York City. It wasn’t long until we started pulling at the bus terminal which is named the Port Authority Bus Terminal. It is a multistory bus terminal and it would usually be the main arrival point for visitors arriving by bus. It was exciting and unnerving to be arriving at the bus station. I managed to find one of the exits of the bus terminal. Now it is on to exploration.
