I needed to clear a few days off of work but I didn’t have the budget to go abroad. I decided to just go around county Donegal to see the sights. I seemed to have picked a very good time to go on leave since the weather that week was very good. It was summer and it seems that there were going to be clear skies for the next few days so I need to make the most of it. I was searching online on which place to visit. I was limiting myself to county Donegal as I didn’t really want to travel that far. It would be okay for an hour’s drive out of town. My searches manage to bring up this place called Crohy. I had a nice photo which I thought I wanted to take but there were very little information about this place other than a short writeup on what is there. So armed with my satnav. I set out to the west of Donegal in the hope of finding something interesting.
The trip would take me near the town of Dungloe. Now, I had never been there nor have I heard of the place. I even managed to get out of town in yet another way. I usually take the northern way out but this was the first time I would take that particular route out of town. Traffic was light that day, which made for a pleasant drive. The roads weren’t really in the best conditions as they were bumpy at times, almost as if they were too lazy to flatten the road but just painted a road on top of the earth. The scenery along the way wasn’t anything to write home about as it was rather barren most of the way. Only when I almost got to the place that things started to get interesting. The satnav brought me along the scenic route which took me up and around the hill which was one of the viewpoints of this area.
