I love the location of the Glebe Gallery. It is on a slight elevation overlooking the lovely Lough Gartan. The estate itself just sits on one end of the lake. It is quite long and I couldn’t see the other end of the lake from where I was. You can see part of the lake from the bedroom of the Glebe House. If I had money, I would love to build my house here. We went through the Glebe House for a quick guided tour, and we were shown the way out via side door. When I saw the lake from the house, I already knew that I needed to have a closer look at the lake. The greenery in the estate was quite vast and it was difficult to tell where the estate actually ends.
There is a nice little path down to the lake. Although it was technically summer but I can still feel a chill in the air as it is usually the case most of the time. I decided to hurry since I didn’t really have a jacket with me. Unfortunately, upon reaching the shores of the lake, it seems the area isn’t as tidied up as the rest of the estate. The shores aren’t really developed that much and it is pretty much just left on its own. I would have appreciated a wooden walkway along the shores, but the lake is still quite large so maybe it would have been waste of money.
