The wonders of technology have brought me to a place which doesn’t seem to have any name. There was an elevated area which was somewhat near the sea which should make for a nice viewpoint. I was on a dirt road just outside the town of Dunfanaghy. The road was wide enough for only a single car and you would have to find a place for another car to pass. The GPS told me I was already at the spot but I wasn’t very satisfied with the view. I thought it was a bit too low so I continued on the road. The road then brought me to a dead end – someone’s house. With no place to turn around. I went in the grounds and turned the car around. There didn’t seem to be anyone home either that or they didn’t bother.
So it turned out that that was the right spot. The sea was way too far and elevation wasn’t very good either. From far away, you can see a bright strip of white sand beach. This beach is part of Dunfanaghy Bay. From the map, you can see that there is a lot of silting going on here so the bay can be very shallow or even non-existent when the tide is low. Earlier, I was at a well known stop over in town and the water was so far away. Maybe it is better to visit when the tides are a bit higher. On the way back down the viewpoint, I passed by a farm which overlooks the view I was looking it. It seems it has a better vantage point but I didn’t want to risk to trespass. There were some sheep which was looking on and I thought they were adorable. Sometimes, simple life like this is all you need to be happy.
