The scenery at the Dunlewey Church of Ireland is indeed very lovely. It has a magnificent location on the shores of Lough Dunlewey at the same time it is on the foot of the country’s second highest mountain. Somehow, a viewpoint was set up so visitors can have at everything from the top. I didn’t really know what else to see here apart from the moody ruins of a chapel they have here. I finally turned around and head back to the main road. I knew that there was another interesting church nearby but I didn’t really know what the name was. But before that, I was already hungry. I didn’t eat breakfast that morning so I was trying to find a place to eat. There were signs pointing to hot food and it was a convenience store.
There shop was selling sandwiches. I wanted “real” food but I don’t think I had the luxury of choice here. I got a sandwich for myself and just ate in the car. It was a large sandwich and I could only finish half, I could always finish it afterwards. It was only then that I noticed that Mount Errigal was looming large over the convenience store. I guess, it really looks much taller further away. Anyway, I continued on my journey hoping to find that church I was looking for. It didn’t really take very long since I already saw the bell tower of the church. It is a distinctive round tower and it was hard to miss. I turned in towards the church to start my visit.
