On the way back to the car at Ballintoy Harbour, I noticed that there was a small path which leads somewhere. I followed it and it brought me to the top of some rocks which were overlooking the harbour. I was surprised at this view point since no one seems to be paying attention to this point. From here you can see a better view of the surrounding area. The harbour area is actually quick small as there was only a few rocky outcrops here. I imagine it would have been easy to add computer generated models to the scenery to make it more medieval. Looking to the right, you can see the harbour itself. It was then that I realized that we didn’t really take any photos of the harbour.
We walked back down the viewpoint and started taking photos of the harbour. At this point, there is a rather prominent sign which points out that this place was a film location for the Game of Thrones. I didn’t know much about the story. So I just took photos of the harbor and packed up. I guess it was a bit too much for me to expect that Ballintoy Harbour would be a medieval town brought to life. Perhaps if this place wasn’t part of the Game of Thrones tour, I might have liked it more. For now, we head back out to the road to our next destination.
