There seem to be a lot of interesting places to see here in County Sligo. I guess this is really a reflection on how beautiful the country of Ireland is. I have lived in the city my whole life and it is refreshing to be able to set out into the country to explore the area. We were on our way back to County Donegal and we were just picking different scenic areas to drop by on our way back. Our next destination is not by the sea but it is a bit inland. Like most beautiful places in Ireland, this also involves water.
I have heard of Glencar Waterfalls from a friend and I have been wanting to come here. We were lucky since the weather has been cooperating so far. At least there is still nice light here. I probably won’t get blue skies though I would be incredibly lucky if that were the case. Our trip would bring us to county Leitrim. We approached the beautiful placid Glencar lake which is on the foot of a beautiful mountain. The signs where a bit confusing since we didn’t know where it was exactly. We ran past the parking lot and had to turn back. Fortunately, the car park wasn’t very busy and we have a grand time taking photos of the picturesque lake.
