We were very amazed at the wild scenery here at Strandhill. The winds here were whipping up strong waves and it was crashing onto the beach. We can’t really get close to the beach because of this. We were content to take photos from a safe distance. It seems that this is a good idea since there weren’t a lot of people by the beach either. Fortunately, there is nice and safe path above the breaking water where people can walk about. Walking down this route is a nice activity but my interest was piqued by what appears to be a hill by the beach.
There seems to be a path to the top of this hill and I wanted to climb it since it didn’t seem to be a long climb. My friends didn’t feel like climbing probably because one had a bad knee and it looked steep. More importantly though, the hill seemed to be very sandy. In fact, I would probably call this a sand dune rather than a hill. It is not surprising since there are constantly powerful winds here. It is possible that these winds may have piled the sand high enough to be what it today. I slowly made my way to the top of the hill, there is clear path to the top so all I needed to do is follow it.
