We gave up trying to invade the Fanad Lighthouse. There doesn’t seem to be a public way of entering the lighthouse, so we decided to abandon that thought since we didn’t want to risk getting shot at. The stretch of land which was across the lighthouse seemed to be an interesting place to look at the lighthouse. I have seen photos of the lighthouse and given the right lighting conditions, it would be a very interesting subject.
Depending on how you look at it, Ireland, has terrible or awesome lighting conditions. It is terrible because it is cloudy and raining all the time. However, what may be good is that when there is a break in the clouds amidst all the gloom, a ray of sunlight may shine on that special spot and illuminate the scene. For this to happen, you need to very lucky but it will be immensely rewarding. I di not have all day to see if I will be lucky or not. I don’t see any possibility of a break in the clouds so I just took photos of the lighthouse. I liked how it looks out to sea and it would have been nice for a little illumination on the lighthouse. There were sheep in the area and they were scampering away from us when we were trying take photos. The land here is very uneven but it seems that they were quite at home here.
