There wasn’t really much to see at the Circus Maximus. It used to be the largest circus or stadium in the Roman empire but now it is just a public park. There was only a grassy field to see here so we decided to move on. We took a tourist bus to get to our next destination, fortunately, there was a stop at the Circus Maximus. I didn’t really know where were were going so I just enjoyed the ride. It was a nice opportunity to see the city of Rome from the bus. It was actually sunny so it was quite hot. I think I haven’t seen bright skies for a long time that I thought it was too hot for me. Fortunately, I had a hood on my jacket to keep the sun out.
We got off at the area of Piazza Venezia and this seems to be another well known place. There was a rather outlandish structure in the area but we will get to that in a moment. It was time for us to have an early lunch. Rome has now shortage of restaurants so we quickly set out looking for one. There were a few in the area but we settled for Ristorante I 12 Apostoli, you can probably figure out what that name means. There as piazza with a simliar name and I think it was named after that. As usually it is Italian food for me. The food here wasn’t that spectacular though. The pasta seemed to be rather ordinary. I had some roast pork once again but this wasn’t as good as the last one. The place seem to specialize in pizza as they have a massive oven in the back of the restaurant. The owner though seemed to be a big football fan. The food wasn’t terribly expensive but it wasn’t terribly good either.
