I was quite pleased with our apartment in Rome. It was in a rather pleasant place in the city. There is a small park outside as well as a bus station directly outside the apartment building. I would have to admit that this is one of the more pleasant areas which we have been to. It isn’t really very busy here, no tourists since this is probably a bit outside the tourist area. Most of the people here are residents. It is quite convenient as well as there is a nearby grocery, a bit smaller than what I was used to but it as a lot of the necessities. Just around the corner is a cafe where you can quietly sip coffee while watching Rome go by. It is probably unfortunate that the place we stayed in Paris and Venice happened to be very busy areas, else I would have probably enjoyed it more.
We were off to collect our Rome passes, it seems that there is a collection point right outside Saint Peter’s Basilica. I wasn’t expecting to be going there so soon, even though I didn’t know what the plan was. We can take the metro to the Vatican, but we decided to walk. The Vatican isn’t really that far from where we were but it is still a fair amount of walking. I thought this was perfectly fine since I would also want to see the city apart from the tourist sites. Who knows, maybe this is a great place to live in.
