We were finally getting off the island of Murano. It was a quick exploration since the island isn’t that big in the first place. We came across the next vaporetto station which we needed to take. The name of the station was Faro and it goes to the next island. Incidentally, the name Faro is Italian for lighthouse. The lighthouse here at Murano is your best landmark for the vaporetto station although you probably can’t see the lighthouse with so many buildings nearby. The vaporetto station was just like the other vaporetto stations.
The vaporetto station is also unmanned like the others, so it was quite tempting to just board the vaporetto without swiping your card. Whether you “forget” or not to swipe your card, you run the risk of getting caught by inspectors who board the vaporettos periodically. No, if you see the inspector, there is no way for you tap again, since there is no machine on board the vaporetto. If you are reading this, you are most probably a tourist, make sure you tap before you board any vaporetto to save you from any trouble. There weren’t any seats in the stationso we were just wandering outside the station waiting for the vaporetto to come. Make sure you board the correct vaporetto.
