So far we have only explored a part of the beautiful island of Murano. I would like to think of it as a more peaceful version of Venice, which is hopelessly overcrowded most of the time. Most of the exploration happens along the banks of the canals which cross the island. I thought this made the place even more attractive. It is just as well that Murano isn’t really overflowing with tourists just yet. The walkways along the canals can be a bit narrow in certain parts. Most of the time, there isn’t any danger of falling into the water, but if there are a lot of people for some reason, then you need to be more careful.
For some reason, we decided to have an early lunch, I guess, we thought that we have to eat earlier since we still have Murano to explore and then the next island. We don’t know if there are a lot of places to eat at the next island so we decided to take a break. We found a small eatery which serves, surprise, Italian food. It was typical Italian fare which the world already knows about. I had some lasagna, probably my first in a long, long while. I seemed to have forgotten how good it is. The entire thing was very soft and melts in your mouth. I really need to know how to make these. We were seats at a platform on the water along the canal and I thought it was very nice. It was nice an peaceful with the sun trying to peek through the clouds. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t exactly and more cheaper than Venice itself.
