It wasn’t exactly the romantic dinner I had in mind. Gino’s Pizzeria isn’t probably the place where you would go for dates. However, their pizza is supposedly good which is why we were here in the first place. Being heavily touristed, I don’t really expect too much from the restaurants here in Venice. After all, there isn’t really that much pressure since there are a lot most tourists than restaurants. Unless you are really out of the way, your restaurant will probably do just fine. Take us for example. We only picked this place since it was convenient for us. Perhaps my companions were trying to avoid a romantic place as well, who knows.
There weren’t really that many surprises in the menu. I’ve had pizza countless of times including those eat all you can ones but that was long time back. The pizza I go for now are the ones in fancier restaurants, not the fast food types. It prefer that the crust is thin but not soggy. I’m not sure I like the wood fired types, since I never liked smoky flavored stuff. The pizza here at Gino’s Pizzeria seem to be okay for my tastes. I’m not exactly the biggest fan of pasta or pizza, but this one was quite okay for me. I ended up finishing up my companion’s share of the pizza. One order of pizza apparently was quite big and it was good enough to share for people with smaller appetites.
