It is not really difficult to explore Venice. After all, it seems that everywhere you look, there seems to be something interesting. Be it medieval buildings or just plain old shops, there seems to be no shortage of beautiful things to see here. The reputation of Venice seems to be well deserved. If you are here it would feel that you are someone rich for being able to live here. Make no mistake about this place, it not the cheapest place in the world. I doubt that the locals even eat outside anymore. The whole place has been turned into a tourist destination. And everyone else seems to be supporting the tourist industry in one way or another.
After a bit of bouncing around, we eventually found ourselves walking towards the sea. It is great to see the sea again. Even though there is so much water flowing through the city, nothing beats seeing the open sea. But before that, we came upon one of the most important buildings here in Venice, and also one of its most famous buildings. The Saint Mark’s Basilica is the most important church here in the city. It is also the seat of the archibishop of Venice. Not surprisingly, there are a million people here just hanging out. There is a large plaza outside the church and it is still filled with people. A lot of the people are queuing up to get in the church. I highly doubt that we have time to queue up. After all it was already afternoon. Anyway, I should just be content to take photos of the impressive basilica.
