Now that we have arrived in Venice area, the question is when to get off. This is a bit tricky since there are two Venice railway stations, and it is likely that your train will be passing by both of them. The first visitors going to Venice would encounter is the Venezia Mestre railway station. This is where the modern city of Venice is. The one which is tourism oriented. It wasn’t a ultra modern city but it is still within easy access of the island of Venice. The second an final stop of the train will be he Venezia Santa Lucia Railway Station. This is the stop which hopefully everybody gets off. This is the railway station after you cross the bridge to the island of Venice. So when going to Venice by train, make sure you cross the sea before getting off.
The Veneza Santa Lucia Railway Station is our stop and it was time for everybody to get off. The kids on a field trip also got off the train. It looks like everybody would be here in Venice. The train station wasn’t particularly big. It wasn’t even as classy as the major train stations of Paris. The waiting area wasn’t particularly impressive either. It would appear that little has been done to improve this part. If it works, why change it? Getting out of the train station was very straightforward, we merely followed everyone else. Venezia Santa Lucia Railway Station isn’t that large. It was only one exit and you can’t miss it. As usually with any busy place, be very careful of your stuff, there are a lot of people hanging out here. Some of them might be unpleasant characters.
