The Louvre Museum is one of the largest museums in the world. So large is it that they needed an entire palace to house the collection. Once you are inside it is really difficult to imagine how large this place is. The best analogy I can think of is the Palace of Versailles. I got an idea of how large the palace was, and I guess if you turn the palace of Versailles into a museum, you would get the Louvre Museum. We were practically breezing through the museum and just hoping we can see something important along the way. My companions were done with the Mona Lisa and it seemed like it was the only thing we would be looking for here. Due to the lack of time, we would have to leave soon.
Now, getting out of the museum also proved to be a challenge. The exit signs were the but it seemed like the museum kep going on an on. We suddenly found ourselves in the Egyptian Section of the Louvre Museum. I have always been fascinated by Egyptian history and it is great to see an entire section dedicated to Egyptian history. I’m sure a lot of other people share the same fascination. There were a few large pieces of exhibits here but I wasn’t able to recognize any of them. I didn’t even get the time to check what the name was on these works were. Unfortunately, we really needed to get out. Perhaps I can visit again sometime.
