The Eiffel Tower is arguably Paris’ most famous landmark and even I knew of the tower when I was a kid. Visiting the Eiffel Tower was never one of my targets since it was so far. Now, I finally got the chance to visit this place. Naturally, I would want to visit this world famous tower. We got out of our apartment early so that I we can reach the Eiffel Tower a bit earlier. It wasn’t really earlier anymore by the time we got there but the queue was still manageable. There was a ticket kiosk at the foot of the tower there was a queue snaking back and forth. The queue was shorter than I expected, perhaps people were still asleep. However, one look above and I wasn’t exactly thrilled with what I saw. It was quite misty and I don’t think we would be able to see that well on top. There were times that the top of the tower was hidden behind the clouds, not a good sign.
I don’t recall why we never purchased Eiffel Tower tickets online. This was actually our third visit to the tower, the first was a failed attempt to climb the tower with the ticket booth already closed, the second attempt was the one from the previous day, where we took the ferry for a tour of the River Seine, this is the third one and it seems that this time we will be successful. As to whether we will be able to see anything from the top remains to be seen. The queue was actually quite fast. Everyone needed to go through security though, but that was okay as well. We just waited to catch the lift to go up the tower.
